The Account Director is a business partner for clients, guiding clients and internal teams with their leadership and marketing expertise. The Account Director is a passionate leader providing strategic vision for the team with a broad, agency-wide responsibility for ensuring all departments work together to provide the best quality product and service for clients.
Account Directors help identify Client business needs and assist them in developing successful solutions. They are responsible for delivering the highest level of service to clients and delivering revenue growth to the agency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitating communication between company, client, and leaders
- Leading day to day client communication and initiatives, including understanding of business building, strategy, media, and creative projects.
- Building rapport and credibility to engage in and foster strong relationships with clients and partner agencies
- Influencing the development of the highest quality work within execution teams (Creative, Media, Analytics)
- Researching and understanding the brand, monitoring competitors and overall category to identify implications that add value for the client in a proactive manner
- Taking accurate notes on client meetings, and disseminating information to internal teams when necessary
- Building and presenting client decks, adhering to agency and client standards
- Writing thorough Scopes of Work.
- Concurrently managing multiple accounts, deadlines, and ideas
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ten plus (10+) years of account management experience across advertising for brand side businesses
- Proven track record in leading marketing teams and managing enterprise accounts
- Strong analytical skills and business marketing experience
- Executive presence and confidence working with clients at senior VP, C-suite and executive leadership levels
- Must have the ability to connect the dots for both clients and internal teams in a clear and easy to understand manner
- Must have persuasive storytelling skills
- Must have the ability to actively build and maintain exceptional working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Must have the ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment
- Experience taking initiative to innovate and solve problems
- Experience working across multiple clients at the same time, and must have the ability to constantly shift gears, solve problems, synthesize ideas, and listen to changing needs
- Must have curiosity and a thought leadership mindset by staying up to date on industry news, technology trends and best practices
