The Account Manager provides a critical role in the support of the account service team, responsible for strong project management that ensures campaigns and projects are executed on time and on budget. They must be knowledgeable in both the client’s and agency’s business. They
participate in reviewing all creative and marketing recommendations to confirm they are on brief. They are
responsible for shepherding work for all assigned accounts within the agency. This role may be the primary lead on specified client accounts through regular, direct contact and the marshaling of agency resources. This position reports to the VP -
Account Strategist.
Expectations:
- Creates jobs for client projects in Advantage
- Provides team with well-documented input, support data, and production materials required to complete projects efficiently
- Keeps teams apprised of all relevant client and market developments
- Maintains weekly/monthly status reports to clients and meets with the client team as needed
- Steps in with client contact when needed
- Reviews copy, design, and final production art for accuracy and correctness
- Provides input into the strategic direction and associated tactics of client accounts based on a strong understanding of their marketing and business objectives
- Coordinates internally to ensure artwork/materials are delivered to publication or digital team by materials due date
- Works with Traffic Manager to coordinate project timelines for client projects with all relevant agency team members
- Works with Production Manager to coordinate estimates for client projects ensuring time is accounted for across relevant agency team members; updates internal systems when estimates are approved
- Maintains client budgets in the internal system and reviews monthly billing batches to ensure timely and accurate billing
- Maintains direct, day-to-day client contact and ensures client expectations are exceeded
- May lead account management duties for specified clients
- Conducts reporting and analysis of actual vs estimated hours by project and client and identifies at-risk projects; creates monthly variance reports
