Experience:
The Associate Public Relations Director works in tandem with the agency client teams to complement and expand our clients’ integrated communications programs with public relations
services. You will take a leadership role in building our client's businesses through engaging
storytelling and media relations. This includes developing business building ideas that drive
results and solving everyday business challenges, all while staying organized and communicating clearly in our fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with the leadership team to develop and manage innovative PR strategies for various agency accounts.
- Develop and manage client relationships and work closely with other teammates and departments to achieve on-going results.
- Develop positive relationships with local, regional and national media of interest and manage the flow of information to and from media representatives to encourage positive exposure for our client's businesses.
- Oversee the pitching process, cultivate, and develop leads and encourage positive exposure for our client’s businesses.
- Develop PR plans as part of a fully integrated agency approach, manage crisis communications and develop escalation policies.
- Network and raise the profile of the agency among potential clients.
- Introduce new ideas for client initiatives including but not limited to; identifying and/or creating items or events worthy of news coverage which will benefit our clients, organizing and managing special events or implementing influencer or content creator programs.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive media database for disseminating news releases locally, regionally, or nationally, segmented by interest area.
- Become a local "source of information" for the media on issues, which affect our clients or our company and maintain a high profile in local communities through professional and civic organizations and community projects.
- Work cross-functionally with the social media and influencer teams to align on content communication planning and execution.
- Develop consistent and insightful reporting communication on established KPIs, as well as informs clients of key insights, current events and trends relative to potential risks for existing or future brand efforts and/or positioning.
- Maintain a healthy attitude towards your responsibilities and your team, and make suggestions when appropriate to improve the overall performance of our team.
- Comply with team policies and procedures, including fulfilling the responsibilities of your position every day.
- Convey a professional and courteous attitude towards clients, co-workers and guests at all times.
- Review and/or edit all publicity stories to be distributed by the agency.
- Supervise the PR Associates and Managers and assist the Content Director with facilitating bi-annual performance reviews.
- Prepare special projects and reports as directed by the position supervisor, President or CEO.
- Maintain critical technology skills related to public relations department daily functions; ensures all public relations team members do the same.
- Maintain an ongoing effort to sell Public Relations services to potential new clients in addition to existing advertising clients in order to expand our client base.
- Work closely with the Content Director and Director of Business Development to develop new business for the agency.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of public relations experience
- Agency/PR Firm experience required
- Exposure to multiple industries, healthcare a plus
- Experience with organic social and influencer marketing a plus
- Writing samples required, writing assessment required
