The Senior Paid Media Strategist is responsible for delivering successful persona-based social media campaigns and strategies across a portfolio of franchise clients. In this position, you will assist the department director and lead a team of social media buyers to help agency clients reach their business goals. The Sr. Paid Media Strategist

serves as a strategic resource to develop campaign strategies, build campaigns, conduct quality assurance checks, optimize campaigns and strategies and reconcile campaigns.


Partnering with your team of media buyers and department director, you will collaborate closely with all agency departments to provide successful paid social media results to franchise clients. Your expertise will help guide the core social media strategy that drives our client’s successes, and your management of your team will ensure our

social media campaigns are delivering optimally. Essentially, the Sr. Paid Media Strategist is a pivotal role in our Media Buying department’s growth, allowing for our clients (and our small team of social media buyers) to get more strategic attention and hands-on support.


This role requires a highly collaborative individual who is organized, meticulously detail-driven, analytical and well-spoken. The Sr. Paid Media Strategist is a confident leader who is hungry to dive into the data, help make strategic decisions and feels confident in their understanding of agency services to lead media strategies and help support account executives and project managers to get the job done. A successful Sr. Paid Media Strategist can seamlessly transition from the big picture and high-level strategy, to being hands-on and navigating complex campaign details.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the department director to oversee social media buying and planning for our franchise clients. Primarily, this includes:
  • Setting up and guiding team on proper campaign tracking and pixel/code testing.
  • Setting up and guiding team on proper conversion mapping and setup.
  • Building and guiding team to ensure social media campaigns are built properly and are up to our standard of excellence.
  • Ensuring campaigns are pacing properly and delivering successful results for our clients.
  • If they are not, proactively optimize, pivot, and make the appropriate changes to deliver results.
  • Overseeing that social media campaigns are executed on time and on budget.
  • Ideating a process for and executing quality control checks for social media campaigns.
  • Partnering with Account Executives to communicate campaign success (or downfalls) to the client.
  • Leading your team in the importance of knowing your client’s performance data.
  • Reviewing campaign performance and reports.
  • Proactively helping Account Executives know what’s happening with their clients.
  • Navigating poor results and optimizing campaigns to turn it around.
  • The ability to look at things from the big picture, and drill down into the details.
  • Maintaining an expert-level understanding of the digital media buying tools we use, like Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and more, to ensure we are using those tools to the best of our ability, to get the best bang for the clients’ dollar.
  • Proactive and clear communication. An essential function of this role is to be able to clearly communicate with your team and account executives.
  • Generate campaign recommendations, insights, or supporting documentation for client or new business presentations.
  • Research and discover changes within the media buying platforms, and assist department director to ensure creative and client strategies align.
  • Assist your team with campaign budget reconciliation and billing management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with agency support representatives at Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and more.
  • Occasional administrative work, like answering office phones, scanning, filing, completing forms and more.
  • Aid in the development of media team processes and procedures.
  • Support a team of social media buyers as their fearless leader, and as a collaborative mentor. We want to hire a team player who can help guide, teach and coach members of staff more junior to help our agency commit to growth.
  • This includes providing employee training, developing growth opportunities, and helping to lift our teammates.
  • Providing coaching, recommendations, check-ins with employees and client teams, and helping to develop our media buyers into stronger media buyers.
  • Assisting your direct reports with additional support of campaign management, strategy questions, client issues or other issues that may come up.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings, quarterly and annual reviews for direct reports.
  • Attend monthly agency management meetings.
  • Work with Human Resources and department director for employee-specific issues, as needed.
  • Assist the department director and other team members with additional requests as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Not only can you walk the walk, but can you talk the talk? Confidently communicates with internal team and clients, and demonstrates confidence in their verbal and written strategic recommendations.

  • Thinking of how our actions and changes impact the bigger picture, taking a pause to think things through and review them before acting, precisely combing through the details and sometimes being cautious before diving in.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of social media planning and buying
  • Experience managing a team of direct-reports
  • Expert proficiency in Meta’s advertising tools
  • Experience planning and buying media in additional social media platforms, like TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest and more
  • Meta Blueprint Professional Certification - Media Buying (or will obtain within 1.5 years of hire)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of the marketing funnel/buyer’s journey
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
